Questions You May Have Before Joining Hamzaban

Hamzaban is an online space for the emotional wellbeing and personal growth of Persian-speaking migrants. Through workshops, guided group programmes, and structured psychoeducational content, we aim to support individuals in navigating migration, loneliness, anxiety, adjustment, identity, and life transitions.

Hamzaban primarily focuses on psychoeducation, emotional wellbeing, guided group support, and personal growth. If more specialised therapeutic support or individual guidance is needed, appropriate pathways and referrals can be explored.

Workshops are delivered online in four-session programme packages. Each programme includes a specific focus, guided discussions, psychoeducational content, practical exercises, and opportunities for reflection and shared learning.

No. You are welcome to participate at your own pace and comfort level. Many participants begin by listening and gradually choose to engage more as they feel safer and more comfortable.

Hamzaban groups are designed for Persian-speaking individuals navigating migration-related challenges, loneliness, anxiety, adjustment to a new country, parenting across cultures, identity questions, or the emotional impact of life transitions.

Before joining, you will receive information about the structure and nature of the sessions so you can make an informed decision. Our aim is to create a safe, respectful, and meaningful environment for participants.

Sessions are conducted online in a secure and supportive environment. Once registered, participants receive full joining details and practical information before the programme begins.

Creating a safe, respectful, and trust-based environment is very important to Hamzaban. At the beginning of each group, shared agreements around privacy and confidentiality are established, and all participants are expected to respect them.

However, because sessions take place in a group setting, confidentiality also relies on the responsibility and cooperation of all members and therefore cannot be guaranteed absolutely.

You are never expected to share anything that feels too personal or too early. Participation happens at your own pace and comfort level. If deeper or highly personal support is needed, individual or more specialised support may be a more suitable option.

Yes. To help maintain a safe, human, and trust-based group environment, participants are expected to keep their cameras on during sessions.

Hamzaban groups are built on connection, presence, and collective psychological safety. Seeing one another helps foster trust, engagement, and a stronger sense of belonging within the group.

If keeping your camera on feels difficult for any reason, please contact us before registering so we can explore whether this space is suitable for your circumstances.

If you are unsure, you are welcome to contact us and briefly share your situation or what you are looking for. We will be happy to help you find the programme that feels most relevant and supportive.

At present, Hamzaban programmes and groups are primarily delivered online to make participation accessible to Persian-speaking communities across different cities and countries.

However, in some cases, and where there is shared interest and agreement among group members, the possibility of in-person gatherings or sessions in a specific city may be explored.
